Day 2:  Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

Your Tanzania honeymoon safari will kick off after spending a night in the beautiful countryside of Arusha, at the base of Mount Meru. The first stop will be Lake Manyara National Park. This park is located on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. It boasts groundwater forests, bush plains, baobab-strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs, making it rich in wildlife and boasting incredible ecological variety in a small area.

While in Lake Manyara National Park, you will have the chance to see the famous tree-climbing lions, the only kind of their species in the world. They use the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias as their home during the rainy season and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. Additionally, the park is home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, making it an exciting game-viewing experience.

If you are a bird enthusiast, Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. You can expect to observe more than 400 species of birds, with highlights including thousands of pink-hued flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, and storks. The alkaline soda of Lake Manyara provides a habitat for an incredible array of birdlife that thrives on its brackish waters. You can see pink flamingos grazing by the thousands of colorful specks against the grey minerals of the lake shore. You will also have a chance to see herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Even if you are not a bird enthusiast, you will still have plenty to marvel at within the national park. Overnight at the Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu. All meals are included.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

We will depart for the Serengeti National Park right after breakfast and make a stop at one of the Masai villages for a cultural encounter. Then, we will proceed to the Naabi Hills gate for check-in. We will take a break for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti.

In the afternoon, we will drive into the Serengeti plains where we will encounter plenty of resident animals such as giraffes, buffalos, and elephants. We will also get to see many large predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. If we are lucky to take the trip in December, January, or February, we will witness the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. We will spend the night at the Serengeti Acacia Luxury Camp, and all meals will be provided.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti

Get ready for an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, where you can witness the Wildebeest Migration in full swing. Don’t forget to grab your breakfast and lunch boxes before you leave. Keep an eye out for cat families on the road, nocturnal animals returning after a long night of hunting, a group of lionesses strategizing their next hunt, or a herd of buffalo grazing in the cool morning air.

Take a break for breakfast in the bush, and continue with game drives until the afternoon. You can have your lunch break at Soronera Visitor’s Center, where you can also rest for a while before heading out on your afternoon game drive. Then, head back to your camp before or during sunset and spend the night at Serengeti Acacia Luxury Camp. All meals are included.

Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

We will begin our day with an early morning game drive, followed by a visit to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Unlike a National Park, Ngorongoro is a Conservation Area that is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife.

The crater offers breathtaking views from every angle along the rim. From the northern and eastern sides, you can catch a glimpse of the dramatic volcano of Oldonyo Lengai, the Great Rift Valley, and Lake Natron. From the south and west, you can see across the Bulbul depression.

This world-class attraction is commonly referred to as the ‘8th Wonder of the World.’ We will descend into the crater for a day game drive, driving down 2000 feet (over 600 meters) into the crater floor. We will explore the forest areas that are home to monkeys and elephants, the lake area where flamingos can be seen, and the open Savannah where the lions hunt for food.

The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for animals, which means there is plenty to see – lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and if you’re lucky, leopards. The only animal you won’t find here is a giraffe, as their long legs are unable to cope with the steep sides of the crater. In the late afternoon, we will travel just outside of Ngorongoro Conservation Area to our Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge in Karatu town for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Karatu – Arusha – Zanzibar

After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, you can enjoy a fully paid complimentary massage at the Massage Spa, and then continue your journey towards Arusha. You will catch your flight to the beautiful island of Zanzibar from there.

Upon your arrival at Zanzibar airport, our representative will be there to warmly welcome you to the island. They will then transfer you to your accommodation for the night – the Romantic and Honeymoon Suite Ocean-Bedroom King Suite at Pongwe Beach Hotel. Here, you can enjoy a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 7 – 10: Zanzibar Beach Holidays

During your stay, you can spend your time at the beach with many water sports activities at the Resort. You can also relax at the luxurious Pongwe Beach Hotel. This is a perfect place for couples to celebrate a special occasion, with seafront honeymoon suites, private stretches of white sandy beach, and attentive staff.

Pongwe is a popular destination for honeymooners who prefer a simple and relaxed atmosphere. You can unwind by the infinity pool, take romantic strolls on the beach, or simply bask in the sunshine and pristine white sand. The beach at Pongwe has been acknowledged as one of the best beaches in Zanzibar and the world. You could also plan a trip to Stone Town for some excursions and return to the beach the same day. You will spend the night at Pongwe Beach Hotel on the Northeast side of Zanzibar Island, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 11: Zanzibar Beach – Zanzibar Stone Town

On this day, after spending five nights on the white sand beaches of Zanzibar, we will take you to the famous Zanzibar Stone Town. Your visit to Zanzibar will be incomplete without experiencing the old part of the city, with its narrow streets and alleys. The Stone Town is the cultural heart of Zanzibar and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for its winding alleys, bustling bazaars, sultan’s palace, mosques, House of Wonders, Portuguese fort, and gardens. You will be able to see the extravagant merchants’ houses with their remarkably ornate doors. During your stay in Stone Town, you will spend one night at the Golden Tulip Hotel Stone Town ocean view rooms, which includes breakfast.

Day 12: Departure

After breakfast at the lodge and depending on your departure schedule, you will be transferred to Zanzibar airport to catch your flight back home with Great memories of your honeymoon Safari in Africa Tanzania.
