We depart from your lodge and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Although small in size, But this park is one of the most diverse reserves in the country, Lake Manyara National Park. The park encompasses the northwest bank and part of the alkaline Lake Manyara which itself rests in the Great Rift Valley. The park is perhaps best known for its flamingos, pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for a few hundred other species of birds; it is therefore a paradise for ornithologists. Next to a great variety of birds, the “Big Game” can also be seen. With a bit of luck you might see elephants in the wooded regions and with even more fortune the tree-climbing lions. Indeed, it was thought for a long time that the Lake Manyara National Park is the only place where lions can be found with this atypical behaviour of climbing trees. Baboons and vervet monkeys are also found amongst the forested areas and in the more open spaces, giraffes nibble at the fresh leaves while the various types of antelopes common to the region browse for tasty shoots. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for further game and wildlife watching before it is time to return to Arusha. Dinner and overnight at Green Mountain Hotel: Bed, Dinner and Breakfast.
Day 4: Marangu to Kilimanjaro Village Walking Tour.
There are colorful local markets in different location within walking distances held twice a week in where “bananas” selling takes place. Marangu is the largest market for the sale of bananas in the country and attracts buyers from all over Tanzania.
Marangu (meaning Land of Water in the local Chagga language) is perennially lush and cool, with mornings shrouded in mist and doused with overnight rainfalls. It’s a great deal more romantic than Moshi — ideal if you prefer a more rural atmosphere, with most of the accommodations options conveniently within the Marangu village. This makes it an ideal base for those who wish to explore the foothills and forests of Mount Kilimanjaro. If you don’t wish to fork out for park fees, it’s worth noting that there are also a number of walks to waterfalls that fall outside the park, which can be reached on foot in Marangu village. Dinner overnight at Nakara Hotel: Bed, Dinner and Breakfast.
Day 5: Marangu to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
After morning breakfast at the hotel we will drive straight to the airport.
